| Blacks Fasteners visit Conservation Project in Marlborough Sounds April 2nd 2012
Some of Blacks Fasteners team were able to get up close to a major conservation project in the Marlborough Sounds recently when they visited Blumine Island, site of the Department of Conservation's recovery project for the endangered Yellowhead (Mohua). As support for the project, Blacks Fasteners are funding walking-track construction from the home bay to the historic gun emplacement. This was a wonderful opportunity to get up close to the project and experience first-hand, this unique and important conservation effort. (Click Here for more information)
Thanks to Mark Nelson - Programme Manager, Visitor/Historic Assets, Department of Conservation Picton and his team for hosting our visit. | |

| Heartland Tour of Rugby's Greatest Prize March 2012 The New Zealand Rugby roadshow pulled into Nelson recently and Blacks Fasteners branch manager Nigel Charlton couldn't resist taking his son Daniel for a close up look at the silverware on display. The Webb Ellis Cup (2011 Rugby World Cup) was on display alongside the Bledisloe Cup, Sir Edmond Hillary Plate, Rugby Sevens Cup and The Black Ferns Cup - plus Richie McCaw’s 100th test cap Shirt, cap and shoes. The show was on display at Tahunanui Park on the beach as part of a tour of New Zealand's heartland provincial centers. From Nelson, the show moves to Reefton and the West coast. Then it's on to Invercargill.

| Nelson Touch Team Bolts In for Win March 2012 It's been a very successful season for the Blacks Fasteners sponsored Touch Team "Blacks Bolters" in Nelson, who won the Division 2 Mens grade. The team was a mixture of young and old with 3 sets of Father & Son pairings. They only had 1 loss and a draw all season. Craig Stove (Nelson Branch Sales Professional) made a comeback for the semi-final and final after being injured for six weeks. The team called in "super-sub" Martin Neethling (Brightwater Engineers) for cover for the "oldies" in case another injury occured! Jordan Murphy (Nelson Branch Storeman) was outstanding in both games making vital try-saving touches. Josh Stove (Craig's son) scored 1 try in the semi-final and 2 in the final. | | Click images to enlarge |
